Chickens

The 13 ladies are a key part of our homestead. They provide eggs for us but also they are the main workers in our compost system. We custom build their chicken house to make sure we're using both their manure and scratching abilities to the fullest. Although this coop is important for compost, their run door is always open during the day. They free range and have access to fresh water from our pond, duckweed, pasture, and woods. When in coop house they are given organic feed.
